Neymar was booed by his own supporters throughout his Paris St-Germain reunite against Strasbourg – then played with an injury-time overhead-kick winner.
The Brazil missed the opening five matches as he tried and failed to secure a return .
He was booed by PSG ultras if his name was read before the game, once he touched the ballwhen he shot a corner and when he shot wide.
There was a mixture of cheers and boos after he scored the winner.
Neymar’s aim proved to be a sensational acrobatic volley in Abdou Diallo’s cross that went off the post.
Neymar needed the ball in the internet for the second time minutes later but the assistant referee disallowed it for offside.
There were also chants and banners with vulgar language about Neymar, including a reference to the euros he had allegedly said he would cover in order to combine Barcelona.
Barcelona were still unable to achieve an agreement with PSG, although the forward wanted to move back into Catalonia in the summer.
He also missed the Trophee des Champions and opening Ligue 1 games, only returning after the close of the transfer window.
There were PSG debuts such as goalkeeper Keylor Navas and striker Mauro Icardi, on loan from Real Madrid and Inter Milan while Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera made his Ligue 1 bow in the next half.
Neymar will be unavailable for PSG game – Wednesday’s Champions League home game with Real Madrid – because of a suspension that is European.
