Rotherham ended Coventrys unbeaten start to the year in emphatic style with a success at the New York Stadium.
Since riot ran matt Crooks struck for Rotherham either side of 2 Michael Smith penalties.
Coventry skipper Kyle McFadzean had a day to await the visitors, being sent off in addition to playing a part in giving off both spot-kicks.
The hosts were before 13 seconds as Crooks header was too powerful for Marko Marosi to maintain out.
The lead was doubled in the 19th minute when Michael Smith fired home from the spot after Marosi after a horribly short pass by McFadzean had triggered him.
Marosi denyed him although jake Hastie might have left a bad start even worse for Coventry along with the rebound from Crooks was retained out.
When Smith netted his second penalty of the match, rotherham did add a third goal in the 58th minute, however.
McFadzean gave it away after bringing Crooks clumsily and referee Darren Handley sent off him.
Still another defensive mix-up led to Rotherhams fourth goal in the 75th minute, together with Crooks.
