Ruiz vs Joshua 2: Anthony Joshua welcomed to spar with rising US contender Jermaine Franklin

Anthony Joshua has been recognized to spar with Jermaine Franklin since the rising US contender has’similarities’ says promoter Dmitriy Salita.
Britain star is currently preparing to get his rematch with Ruiz Jr from Saudi Arabia on December 7, live on Sky Sports Box Office, along with social media suggested he is sparring with prospect Timothy Moten.
Promoter Salita disclosed how Franklin joined Joshua in camp ahead of a season’s world title defence against Alexander Povetkin, but the Michigan guy could answer the telephone later stretching his unbeaten record to 20 victories last weekend to mirror Ruiz Jr.
Salita told Sky Sports:”Jermaine Franklin is your very greatest American heavyweight contender and although he’s just 25-years-old, he’s among the most impressive competition resumes of the best prospects.
“He has a few similarities to Ruiz using a long and successful amateur career that has influence on his style as they are both athletic with quick hands.
“Jermaine was offered to train Joshua for its Povetkin struggle, but scheduling didn’t work out to get him. We were not offered the prospect for this particular one, but it could be a great experience to train with Anthony Joshua, one of the best and most outstanding heavyweights from the branch.”
Joshua’s team were working hard to deliver in heavyweights for sparring after preparations for his world title fight were interrupted when Ruiz Jr stepped in as a replacement opponent.
Promoter Eddie Hearn explained:”Sparring is something we have been working at. First time we just had four months, and 3 weeks of sparring. We found guys but probably not the guys we really wanted.
“Now the sparring is top class. He’s focused and looking fantastic. Eight weeks to go.”
Derek Chisora recently disclosed he offered his services as a sparring partner ahead of his large domestic clash with David Price on the Regis Prograis-Josh Taylor bill on October 26, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
“Sparring, yes,” Chisora explained. “He’s tall, I’m short!
“I’m going to see him next week. He has asked me a couple of times before but I have been too busy”
